Last weekend, Steve and I attended Beyond Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience.
If you haven't been yet and you have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it. Maybe it's the artist in me, but I thought it was such a creative, experiential way to exhibit the work of Vincent van Gogh.
I've been reading a (very thick) biography on van Gogh this summer in preparation for this experience. There are so many things I didn't know about him:
He failed at multiple jobs before becoming an artist
He didn't decide to become an artist until he was 27 (the last decade of his life)
His work was largely misunderstood and rejected during his lifetime
He struggled with mental health challenges throughout his life
But despite all of this, he persevered. He tried new things, he continued learning and developing his skills, he kept moving.
Can you relate?
We all know what it feels like to experience failure. When this happens, it's natural to doubt yourself or your path and evaluate your next steps carefully.
But every failure has something to teach us. And if that's your perspective, then failing is simply part of learning.
What if it takes a whole string of failures to figure it out, to find what you're looking for, to achieve success? Don't stop, keep moving. Let Vincent van Gogh be your inspiration. 🎨
